t-mobile blew it – or – why i won’t buy the g1

I eagerly awaited the announcement of theÂ T-Mobile G1Â (formerly known as the HTC Dream) at 10:30 am today; this will be the very first GooglePhone to hit the market. Â The best news of the live video conference was the G1′s price at $179 for existing T-Mobile customers. Â Imagine my surprise when I went to order one and saw this:Â I called T-Mobile customer service to confirm that, because I am not in the last month of my contract, I am ineligible for the full discount and a G1 will cost me a whopping $344, a far cry from the $179 (even if you assume tax and fees) announced today.I will not renew my contract with T-Mobile at the end of this term if this is not rectified. Â They had a great chance and blew it today in a single move. Â If they are willing to subsidize the difference between what was stated and what was offered, I may reconsider.Â Â Other evidence:

Google Sets

I’ve discovered one of the more intriguing sectors of the Google world in the lab portion of their website.

Google Sets automatically creates sets from a few given examples. For instance, I can enter turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce and get the results

A fairly consistent hit for Thanksgiving fare. This obviously has educational impact in that it can be used to discover members of a set with which you may not be familiar.

There is not as much information regarding double bass as I would like; I have not yet read how Google Sets creates its sets, but I can assume it is related to searches from unique IP addresses.

Experiement, it’s a fun way to pass the internet time. (During your short practice breaks)
