Today, marketing giant Seth Godin hosted a mass conference call with over a thousand people who bout his book, Meatball Sundae. The call was presented by SFEntrepeneur and required purchasing Meatball Sundae in order to answer a question (easily Googleable) in order to sign up.
Calling in required entering a code received after registering. Because of an Animal Control truck on the side of the Interstate, I was running late and had to call from my cell. Kudos to the organizers for not blocking second-point access (even though they warned against it) so I didn’t have to miss anything. We lost Seth twice, at about 15 and 45 minutes in; he quickly dialed back in.
Blow are my notes. With Meatball Sundae in one hand, my Lamy FP in the other (thanks, JetPens!), and my Moleskine on the table, I wrote (sometimes furiously) as much as I could. Seth primarily outlined most of the 14 trends listed in his book. In the interest of time, he skipped a couple. He saved the end for questions and, as you see in the notes, mentioned Kate‘s Squidoo lens, which Shannon Butcher recently wrote about in her blog. Small world, huh?
I’d like to share these notes, which may make no sense to readers. If you haven’t, read Seth’s book(s). Whatever it is you do, there’s a good chance the world is changing around you and Seth’s ideas seem to point the way forward. As a musician, I believe New Media is the inevitable future (or the present for those ahead of the curve), not the boogey man in the closet.

well done!
glad you didn’t take notes whilst driving.
Seth –
I’m glad animal control packed up so quickly!
I know your attention is in high demand; I truly appreciate that you took the tome to read and comment.
As a musician, I think I’m already outside the box by reading your work – now I am working to become the remarkable in my market.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Hey Matthew ..
Thanks for the link! Such a small world! And you’re such a tidy notetaker
